Coping With Post-Holiday Blues

Saturday January 6, 2007

Everyone talks about the New Year and making resolutions, creating new paths, focusing on moving forward, etc. Truth be told, January can be a very depressing month. Sometimes February, with Valentine's Day right in the middle and winter lingering on, does not seem much better.

If you are someone who feels overwhelmed by the let down of January, you are not alone. It is important to plan for these times. It is important to acknowledge your feelings, but it is also important to install supports and coping techniques to assist you in moving through these times.

Maybe now is a good time to examine your coping skills/techniques and see how effective they are for today. Planning for times of stress, when you are feeling OK is the best time.
