PBS Documentary on Depression Airing This Week
PBS is airing a special called "Depression: Out of the Shadows" this week (visit the PBS website to check local listings). The documentary covers personal stories of depression, addresses some myths about the disorder, and reviews some of the latest research on treatment. Depression affects about 20 million people in the U.S. alone, and is very prevalent among people with borderline personality disorder-- about 80% of people with BPD also meet criteria for major depressive disorder.
