Suicide Risk Factors

Suicide is unfortunately common among people with BPD. But, in addition to the BPD diagnosis, there are some risk factors that convey additional risk for a suicide attempt. For example, if you have BPD and a substance use disorder, or have access to firearms, you are at greater risk.

Not many people know what Borderline Personality Disorder is I cant talk to anyone about t it is driving me crazy.

I read your comment. I don’t know if you or someone you know has Borderline personality Disorder. You can talk to a social worker, psychologist, psychiatrist. I was diagnosed with Borderline traits. If you’d like to talk, let me know, I’m here for you.

Living with my husband who I feel has this illness made me feel suicidal, that is why I had to leave the relationship for the sake of my son. He could not talk to me about his feelings and only wanted to be superficial. When I tried to talk to him he got very defensive and ran away, I couldn’t win. Unfortunately I had to distance myself from him to keep my sanity.
