Definition:

Psychosis is a term that refers to a mental state characterized by a disconnect from reality – specifically there is a severe impairment in thought and perception. Psychotic symptoms include hallucinations and delusions. Hallucinations and delusions can be present alone or together.

The term Borderline Personality Disorder refers to being on the border of neurosis and psychosis.
