Definition: A type of psychotherapy (or "talk therapy") that is based on a process of discovering conscious or unconscious thoughts, wishes, emotions, and behaviors through interactions with the therapist.

One variation of psychodynamic therapy that is used to treat borderline personality disorder is "transference-focused therapy."
